Holidays in Auer (Ora) …
Auer (also known as Ora in Italian) is a lovely wine village with more than 3,000 inhabitants nestled in the Castelfeder holiday region. Although the people no longer live exclusively off agriculture, the place has been able to preserve its rural charm and there are historic residences and farms in the Mediterranean style, narrow lanes lined by natural stone walls, trees and flowers wherever you look.
Auer is situated in the fertile Etsch valley, at a slight elevation of 250 metres above sea level. Shops, cafés and cosy guesthouses lend the place a pleasant atmosphere that you will enjoy soaking up.

Castelfeder
The Castelfeder hill lies at the heart of the holiday region Castelfeder as well as lending its name to it. It soars up between the villages and connects them all; it is fascinating and unique at the same time. The vista from here stretches far over the Etsch valley while the complex historical events attached to the region reach much further back. Old wall foundations suggest late antique fortifications and a prehistoric settlement. The sub-Mediterranean flora gives the place a southern feel. Castelfeder has a magical attraction and there are numerous legends attached to this porphyry hill.
The porticos of Neumarkt
Stroll through Neumarkt’s porticos and soak up the unique atmosphere, enjoying a cappuccino and some retail therapy in the little shops.
