Holiday in Auer (Ora)... A sleepy wine village of about 3,000 inhabitants. Although people no longer live exclusively on agriculture, the location has been able to retain its rural character. Splendid squares with balconies heavy with flowers, lively narrow alleys lined with natural stone walls, trees and flowers wherever you look. Auer is in the fertile Etsch Valley, slightly elevated at 250 metres above sea level. Here the valley is at its widest. Here the sun shines longer. A varied flora grows in the Mediterranean climate: figs, lemons and palms. But above all excellent wine (try Lagrein and ask the tourist office about Wine Week).
The shops and businesses in the heart of the village offer everything you need for a trouble-free holiday in Auer. Bars, cafés and cosy inns exude that Mediterranean atmosphere that you can happily let yourself be carried away with. And your day-to-day life takes a break. Sights and leisure tips:
