Cycling along the wine route
Cycling in the south of South Tyrol is a wonderful and varied experience. It is a particularly pleasant way of exploring the area, on traffic-free, level cycle paths along the wine route and the Etsch river or on the old railway line. There are vineyards and apple orchards as far as the eye can see, shady deciduous forests and colourful meadows, passing Lake Kaltern and the Montiggl Lakes.
Cycling in all seasons
Fresh and fragrant in the spring, warm and mellow in the summer, fleetingly colourful in the autumn and white and dormant in the winter. But, whatever the season, there is always a hint of the south in this unique region.
Cycling for comfort lovers and families
Many flat and smoothly tarmacked trails run from your accommodation in Auer, Montan, Neumarkt and Salurn and criss-cross the sweeping Etsch valley. It is easy to find your way around. So you can just take off on your bike and see where it takes you today. The Etsch cycle path from Bozen to Lake Garda is particularly nice: a 90 km cycle path along the flat riverbank as far as Lake Garda.
Mountain biking
For all those who have a bit more stamina and fitness, we recommend the passes of the Dolomites and the route of the old Fleims valley railway: from Auer to Predazzo through forests and meadows.
